Whether you’re a seasoned adventurer or a relaxation seeker, these islands offer an unforgettable experience. This 7-day Andaman & Nicobar Islands itinerary is designed to unveil the diverse charm of the Andamans, taking you from bustling Port Blair to the serenity of Havelock and Neil Islands, with a touch of adventure on Baratang Island.

Starting Point of Our 7-Day Andaman & Nicobar Islands Itinerary

Let us start our itinerary from Port Blair. So, I would suggest you ensure that you reach Port Blair on the first day of your 7-day Andaman & Nicobar Islands trip. The Veer Savarkar International Airport in Port Blair welcomes flights from many Indian and international destinations. When you choose a flight trip, it will take around 2 hours and 30 minutes based on your place of origin.

How to Reach Port Blair?

As mentioned earlier, you can reach this capital city of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands by flight. The other option available is to sail. From ports in Chennai, Kolkata and Vishakhapatnam, you can take boat trips to reach the city.

The Indian Government operates the boat trips. Remember that it will take around 50-60 hours to travel when you sail. So, plan your trip accordingly so that you can reach Port Blair on the first day of this 7-day Andaman & Nicobar Islands itinerary. The main seaport in Andaman & Nicobar Islands is Wharf Seaport. It is located in Port Blair.

My 7-Day Andaman & Nicobar Islands Itinerary

Day 1 & 2: Port Blair and Havelock Island

Day 1: Port Blair Exploration

In case, you will be reaching Port Blair on the first morning of this 7-day Andaman & Nicobar Islands Itinerary, check in to one of the accommodations mentioned above. Freshen up and have your breakfast.

After finishing your breakfast, take a rest for a few hours. Finish your lunch near your accommodation or at one of the best restaurants in Port Blair:

Where to Eat in Port Blair?

Port Blair’s culinary scene caters to diverse palates.

  • Seafood lovers can’t miss Sea Food Delights, renowned for its fresh catch and vibrant curries.
  • Are you craving a taste of local cuisine? If so, head to Annapurna Restaurant for a delightful spread of South Indian fare.
  • Budget travellers can find delicious and affordable meals at vegetarian restaurants like A2B – Adyar Ananda Bhavan.
  • For a fine dining experience with stunning views, try Amaya Restaurant at Hotel Sea Shell.
  • You can also find delicious street food at the stalls near Aberdeen Bazaar, offering everything from steaming momos to crispy dosas.

Afternoon: Cellular Jail

After you finish your lunch, visit the historic Cellular Jail, also known as ‘Kala Pani’. It played a considerable role in the hunt for Indian freedom. Participate in the sound and light show in the evening to learn about the sacrifices of freedom fighters.

You can have some snacks before you head to Corbyn’s Cove Beach.

Late Evening: Corbyn’s Cove Beach

Let us finish this first day of the 7-Day Andaman & Nicobar Islands Itinerary with a stroll in Corbyn’s Cove Beach. Enjoy a leisurely walk at this serene beach. The sunset here is breathtaking. If possible, reach this beach before the sunset.

You can have a simple dinner near the beach. You can find many street food stalls on the beach. Make sure to finish your dinner before you get back to your accommodation for a restful sleep.

Day 2: Travel from Port Blair to Havelock Island

Make sure to start early on the second day of our 7-day Andaman & Nicobar Islands Itinerary. However, around 12 boats start every day from Port Blair to reach Havelock Island. The travel time between these two islands is around 3 hours. The distance between them is 75 km. The boat ticket will cost you around Rs.1600. When you try to catch the first or second boat, you can reach Havelock Island early. When you start after finishing your breakfast at Port Blair, you can reach Havelock Island for lunch.

Havelock Island caters to a more relaxed vibe with a focus on nature.

After you reach Havelock Island, you can finish your lunch before entering your accommodation.

Where to Eat on Havelock Island?

  • Are you craving a relaxed vibe? Full Moon Cafe offers delicious meals with a stunning ocean view.
  • In case, you are looking for tasty and affordable options at shacks like Cafe Salt Water near Radhanagar Beach.
  • For a special occasion, consider Bonova Cafe, a multi-cuisine restaurant known for its continental delicacies and elegant ambience.
  • Don’t forget to explore the local street food scene – vendors near Vijay Nagar Beach offer delicious snacks like samosas and coconut water.

After lunch, check in to one of the accommodations mentioned above. Otherwise, you can also choose some other accommodation on Havelock Island. Rest for a few hours before heading to Radhanagar beach in the evening.

Evening: Radhanagar Beach

In the evening, go to Radhanagar Beach, acclaimed as one of the best beaches in Asia. You can spend time for a few hours relaxing on the white sandy shore.

Night: Beachfront Dinner

Enjoy a seafood dinner at a beachfront restaurant, savouring the day’s fresh catch. After dinner, get to your accommodation to spend the second night of this 7-day Andaman & Nicobar Islands itinerary.

Day 3 & 4: Havelock Island Exploration & Travel to Neil Island

Day 3: Havelock Island Exploration

Finish your breakfast near or in your accommodation on Havelock Island. However, make sure that you have a simple dinner. The reason is that let us begin this day with a scuba diving experience.

Morning: Scuba Diving/Snorkeling

Explore the underwater world at Elephant Beach or one of the many dive sites around Havelock. The vibrant coral reefs and diverse marine life are a diver’s paradise.

You might feel tired after snorkelling for a few hours. So, get back to your accommodation. Finish your lunch near your accommodation and rest for a few hours.

Evening: Kalapathar Beach

Visit Kalapathar Beach, known for its picturesque landscape and tranquillity. It’s a great spot for a peaceful stroll and some quiet time.

End the third-day exploration in this 7-Day Andaman & Nicobar Islands Itinerary with dinner near Kalapathar Beach. After dinner, reach your accommodation to spend this night peacefully.

Day 4: Travel to Neil Island

Remember that two ferries operate from Havelock to Neil Island. One is at 9:30 am and another is at 3 pm. The distance between these two islands is 18 Nautical Miles. It will take around 45 minutes to reach Neil Island. The ticket cost will be around Rs.1500.

As the first ferry is at 9.30 am, you can finish your breakfast on Havelock Island before catching this ferry. When you catch this ferry, you will reach Neil Island before 10.30 am.

Where to Stay in Neil Island?

Neil Island, known for its laid-back charm, offers a range of peaceful accommodations.

  • For a touch of luxury, consider beachfront resorts like Sea Shell Neil Island or Symphony Summer Sands Neil Island, boasting stunning ocean views and premium amenities.
  • Mid-range travellers have options like Summer Sands Beach Resort or Coco Beach Resort, offering comfortable stays with easy access to the beach.
  • Budget-conscious visitors can find delightful homestays near Laxmanpur Beach or Bharatpur Beach, allowing for an immersive experience with local families.

When choosing, prioritize your preferences – proximity to specific beaches, on-site facilities, or a truly secluded escape. Research online reviews to find a haven that complements your ideal Neil Island getaway.

You can check in your accommodation and rest for a few hours before heading to Bharatpur Beach in the afternoon.

Afternoon: Bharatpur Beach

Visit Bharatpur Beach in the afternoon. It’s an excellent spot for snorkelling and glass-bottom boat rides to view the coral reefs.

After spending some time on this beach, you can finish your lunch. You can find many seafood restaurants near this beach for a refreshing lunch.

Evening: Laxmanpur Beach

Head to Laxmanpur Beach for a mesmerizing sunset. The natural rock formations and the serene environment make it a perfect end to the day.

After spending some time in Laxmanpur Beach, finish your dinner near the beach before you reach your accommodation for a restful sleep.

Day 5 & 6: Neil Island Exploration & Return to Port Blair

Day 5: Exploring Neil Island

Morning: Natural Bridge

After you finish your breakfast on the fifth day of your 7-day Andaman & Nicobar Islands itinerary, head to Natural Bridge. This bridge is also known as Howrah Bridge by the locals. It’s a natural rock formation that’s best viewed during low tide.

Afternoon: Sitapur Beach

Explore Sitapur Beach, known for its unique rock formations and calm waters. It’s a quieter beach, ideal for relaxation and reflection.

After spending some time on this beach, finish your lunch and reach back to your accommodation so that you can rest for a few hours.

Evening: Local Village Tour

Take a tour of the local villages to experience the simple island life and interact with the friendly locals.

After spending some time in the local village, finish your dinner before heading back to your accommodation.

Day 6: Travel To Port Blair

On the sixth day of your 7-day Andaman & Nicobar Islands itinerary, you can travel back to Port Blair. Three ferries operate from Neil Island to Port Blair every day. One is at 11.30 am, the other two ferries are at 12.30 pm and 3.30 pm respectively.

Even if you intend to catch the first ferry, you can wake up a bit late on this day. However, do not forget to take the first meal of the day. After breakfast, you can rest for a few hours if required so that you can catch the 12.30 pm ferry. The travel time is 75 minutes. The travel cost is Rs.1600 and the distance is 20 Nautical Miles.

Upon reaching Port Blair finish your lunch and check in at one of the accommodations mentioned above. Then, go to Chidiya Tapu.

Afternoon: Chidiya Tapu

Visit Chidiya Tapu, also known as the ‘Bird Island’, famous for bird watching and its sunset view. The biological park here is home to diverse flora and fauna.

Evening: Shopping at Aberdeen Bazaar

Explore Aberdeen Bazaar for some souvenir shopping. Pick up local handicrafts, shell ornaments, and other unique items to take back home.

Day 7: Departure

Let the last day of your 7-day Andaman & Nicobar Island itinerary begin with a visit to the Samudrika Naval Marine Museum.

Morning: Samudrika Naval Marine Museum

Visit the Samudrika Naval Marine Museum to learn about the marine life, history, and culture of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Afternoon: Relax and Pack:

Return to your hotel to pack and relax before your departure.

Evening:

Head to Veer Savarkar International Airport for your flight back home, carrying memories of an unforgettable island getaway.

On the final day of this itinerary, you can plan your start at the airport based on the flight timing.
