There are times in life when you don’t care about past or future. You just want to be in the present. Unperturbed & calm, you don’t want to blink as you might miss admiring the nature’s magnificence, for a fraction of second. Our stay in Leh was one such time!

Leh has always been the topmost destination in any traveler’s wish-list. I was lucky enough to mark Leh off my list. It all started when a friend of mine asked me to go for a trek this year. We started exploring the Trekthehimalayas.com website and  saw many treks listed there. After 3 hours of research, we finally boiled down to Chadar Trek.

The idea of walking over the frozen Zansar river gave us goosebumps! We booked our tickets from Bangalore to Leh and started counting days. But, destiny had decided something else.

One day, we get a call from the TrekTheHimalayas representative. He informed us that the Chadar trek might be cancelled due to the chances of flash floods. This news disappointed us as we might miss a chance to complete one of the hardest treks in India. With hope in our heart, we waited for the D-day to arrive.

But, to our utter disappointment, the Chadar trek was eventually cancelled. However, TrekTheHimalayas team arranged another trek which is known as Lamayuru Trek. We had no option but to concede to nature’s decision. But, we were still excited about going to Leh and immersing in the magic of it’s majestic landscapes.

When the day approached, we packed our bags and started preparing for Leh. The Lamayuru trek was jaw-dropping. We started the trek with a lot of expectations. But, the nature surprised us. The spectacular views of the endlessly stretched, snow-clad mountains were beyond our imagination and far more than what our eyes had expected to witness!
