Hidden under vast trees in the dense landscape of Gir National Park, Asiatic Lion Lodge offers a lovely forest stay for travelers. Located off the main highway, Asiatic lion lodge keeps itself away from the constant buzzing of traffic. The sprawling property has a rustic feel to it. The pale brown walls and surrounding gardens create a lively contrast. The ankle high grass tickles your shins as you walk pass through it, admiring the blue sky, with a pink shade above.

The cottages have a luxury feel to it. The interiors are impressive and adorned by interesting paintings. The yellow colored night lamps effectively glow the ambiance and pulling a chair outside gives you a relaxed vibe.
The resort staff helped us in acquiring the morning safari permit. Breakfast was served in time before starting the morning safari. We were accompanied by the Manager’s wife who seemed very interested in the forest ecosystem. After completing the morning safari, we were escorted back to Asiatic lion lodge where lunch was already prepared for us. The afternoon was spent at peace as the staff prepared for the evening.
Snacks were provided along with hot tea & coffee. Snacks were served in a dedicated area and we relished delicious pakoras while glancing at the deep forest beyond. Post snacks, we explored the property landscape. There were a few swings meant to keep children engaged.

When we visited Asiatic Lion Lodge, the occupancy was 100%. Hence, we were presented by a tribal show by Africans who have settled in Gujarat for generations. Known as Siddi tribe, these Africans presented an engaging act. They smashed coconuts on their heads, played with fire and presented their traditional dance.
For dinner, sumptuous Gujarati varieties were presented under the open sky. The dinner was set under the stars in garden which provided a great dining experience. The sweet dishes were the best part of dinner and my sweet tooth got a lot of pampering that day!
Next day, we checked out from Asiatic Lion lodge, reminiscing the lovely memories we had just created.
