4 states in 4 years | Exploring various cultures in India

There are many cultures in India. Shifting from one state to another is always exciting as you would meet people from new cultures and explore new landscapes. This post is about my experiences, as I assimilate various cultures in India, by staying in different states. Every-time I moved to a different state, it was a bold move for me.  However, every change has made me stronger and brought a positive change in my life.

The first state, where I stayed for 21 years, is Gujarat. When I completed my school, I continued with my graduation in Gujarat. Gujarat offers rich culture to imbibe. Be it Kite flying day or Navratri celebrations. Any festival is celebrated with zest! However, for me, Gujarati culture was the only culture I had experienced since childhood. Hence, I decided to move to a different Indian state for my post-graduation. This decision turned out to be a life-changing one!

Out of the available options, I selected Goa for completing my post-graduation. I had visited Goa during my graduation days and had returned back completely exhilarated. So, when a prospect of studying in Goa appeared, I was very excited. I stayed for 2 years in Goa during my post-graduation degree. I made some lovely friends and partied like crazy. I still remember the long bike rides dissecting breath-taking landscapes in Goa. This state taught me how to enjoy life and make responsible decisions at the same time! During my stay, I was bitten by the travel bug. Till date, I have stayed infected. This has completely changed my life. I used to travel earlier also. But, now when I travel, I travel with an inquisitive pair of eyes, in search of splendid experiences to remember for lifetime.

Every phase of life has to end. But, only for a new chapter to begin. In my case, after the Goa chapter, the “City of Dreams” was destined for me. With hope in heart, I landed in Mumbai. I started my corporate job and lived life as a liberal bachelor who had just started earning. My friends were in the same state. So, Mumbai gave us all a sense of freedom and self-independence.  I met many new people and became more social. I started to find it easy to strike a conversation with a random stranger. Well, Mumbai does that to you!

But, eventually, I seeked more excitement in my career. I was always inclined to the travel industry and hence started seeking opportunities in the same. Finally, I decided to take a bold step and shift companies. I got a job with a leading travel website. Due to this, I had to shift to Bangalore, the city of pubs & gardens. I spent a lot of time to find the perfect house for me in Bangalore and I found it! As I write this, I  sit in my balcony, allowing the cool Bangalore wind to caress my hair.

For me, starting a new life in Goa, Mumbai & Bangalore was exciting! Exploring various cultures in India, in search of a new chapter in life, has definitely made me bold and confident for taking certain steps.
